This medicine softens the fecal matter by pulling the liquid in the intestines. With this stimulus, the intestines get in motion and bowel movements are activated.

  1.  【診察で】腎臓病など持病のある人は医師に伝えてください。
    1. (During consultation): Please tell your doctor if you have any chronic diseases, such as kidney diseases or any others.
  2. 【注意する人】大量のマグネシウムは心臓によくありません。また、腎臓が悪いとマグネシウムが体にたまりやすいです。そのため、心臓病や腎臓病のある人は、用量に注意するなど慎重に用いる必要があります。
    1. Warning/Contraindications: Magnesium, in large quantities, is bad for the heart. It is also easy for magnesium to accumulate in the kidney. Because of this, people with kidney or heart diseases must take caution when considering the dose.
  3. 【用法】:緩下剤として使用する場合..酸化マグネシウムとして、通常成人1日2gを食前又は食後の3回に分割経口服用するか、又は就寝前に1回服用する。
    1. Usage: When used as a laxative, the typical magnesium oxide dose for adults is 2 grams per day, taken orally split in three before or after meals, or one time before bedtime.
  4. 【副作用】安全性の高いお薬ですが、服用量が多いときなど、人によっては便がやわらかくなったり軽い腹痛を起こすことがあります。
    1. Side effects: This is a highly safe medicine, nevertheless, if taken in large quantities, or depending on the person, there can be mild abdominal pain and/or slight diarrhea.
  • 便秘薬=べんぴやく
  • 腸内=ちょうない
  • 軟化増大=なんかぞうだい
  • 便通=べんつう
  • 緩下剤=かんげざい
  • 就寝前=しゅうしんまえ
